The CPD, Day Two… Answers!!
Guess what, BSers! I am so HAPPY and PSYCHED right now!
My doctor just called and said, based on tests so far and my symptoms… I may have something called Cushing’s Syndrome.
Go ahead, Google it up.
I had never heard of it before, but apparently it is based on elevated Cortisol levels. And it causes every single little problem I have been having over the past few years.
The hypertension. The weight gain. My “moon face”. The stretch marks. The bone loss. The muscle and joint aches. On and on and on.
They are referring me to an endocrinologist to verify the diagnosis and apparently the treatment is to find the cause, which is usually a benign tumor somewhere… and remove it. They say the initial operation success rate is 80 percent and if it doesn’t work the first time they simply repeat the surgery.
So if they find out what is causing this and remove it, it will fix ALL my problems! It is still a little bit of a battle ahead to heal from the ribs and treat this bizarre syndrome, but I am just so happy to finally have some answers and know this is not all in my head!

I would say that is so wonderful, but it is a bit too scary to be wonderful! I’m glad you are headed in the right direction to fixing your problem. I’m really happy for you having some answers now! Good luck!
I have heard of Cushing’s before, but I didn’t know that it could effect so many systems. Is it an autoimmune disorder? I feel like it might be. Anyway, I am glad you are finding answers even if the answers are a little intense. I know I prefer knowing and having a plan of action that wondering what the heck is going on. Ellen
My good friends daughter is 24 and has the same problem. They are still looking for all the answers for her. President Kennedy had the same disorder. Hang in there. Let us know how things are going! Hug, Marge
It is a scary diagnosis, but I think NOT knowing is even scarier. I hope everything turns out well and you start feeling better.
Shucks and here I thought it was all in your head–LOL!! In all seriousness, I’m so glad the doctor has some idea of what could be ailing you! I sure hope they find the cause so that you can start living your life pain-free!! I’m psyched for you!
