House of Temptation, Part III
It has been really really hard around here to resist all this stuff. Currently there is a pizza in my house, some donuts, a huge slab of apple pie, some cookies, ice cream, crackers, potato chips and dip, candy, pumpkin pie…
That’s not to mention all the regular food. And yet I have valiantly resisted. The hardest part is always when I’m supposed to be asleep. I’ll wake up at noon or 1pm and if nobody’s around, I just go to town.
But the scale is holding steady at 145 pounds, and this is at the “end of the day” when I’m fully hydrated and filled up on food. I tell myself I have come to far to slip up now. And these days, exercise is not a given. I have a lot of other obligations so not only is it hard to fit in, but I cannot exercise with the intensity or duration I once could. Sometimes just a half hour of Gazelle-ing (about two miles) is all I can manage.
Still, I am sticking to my 1500 calories a day, more or less and I think I’m on the right track.
Now to get some shut-eye.

Matt,
I started wondering about your house of temptations…Why is it so important to have donuts, pizza, pies, and candy in your house week after week? I remember that your wife got on board with you with healthy eating, more veggies and fruits, and less carbohydrates. Is she still on board? If she loves to cook and entertain guests, there are healthy desserts and great substitutes for almost all the fatty and sweet dishes.
Temptations… temptations… temptations… You would do better if you clean your environment… then you wouldn’t have to run away from your own house scared of sugary monsters sitting in the kitchen and calling your name. It doesn’t have to be a war Matt.
With binge eating, I know I can’t have trigger foods in the house.
Anyway, good job on resisting and keeping your weight down.
Good job on resisting the temptations. I know how hard it is. It is not quite so bad at my house now, that hubby is trying. I wish I could do a complete clean sweep of the junk, but I have an 18 year old son still at home, and it is hard not to buy him the snacks he likes.

You are doing awesome keeping the weight down!
Have a good one!
Becks:
Stop taking inventory of what you can’t have and take inventory of what you can have. It will make your life a little easier.
You are doing great and don’t need my advice because you know what you are doing!
Hope you have a great week.
Debbie
I’m curious myself as to why there is so many goodies in your house. Maybe you should cut back on what kinds of foods are in there. But, you are hanging in there so that’s a good thing. Have a good day!
