Weight Loss Thoughts

So here I am, blogsurfing the BuddySlim site… and eating a light breakfast. After a binge it’s always tempting to skip meals and workout extra long, but instead I do my “normal” workout… which this morning was the Biggest Loser DVD for an hour. And just eat a little lighter during the day. A little less. I’ve long since gotten over the days when a binge would leave me depressed for the rest of the day. I have other things to be happy about, even if I did eat way way way too much in the middle of the night.

There are a few events coming up that I would like to be lighter for. The USAF Ball is the weekend of Sept 15th and since my wedding anniversary is Sept 20th, we are just going to celebrate by going to the Ball and dancing and then spending the night in an Inn. I could probably be about 10 pounds lighter than I am now. Maybe. If I can stop eating at night.

I wish SOMEBODY could confirm whether or not I got added to any Weight-Loss teams. I am probably going to weigh-in at least 160 tomorrow no matter what, so that’s a loss of three pounds. So that 3 pounds could probably help out some team or another, right?

Anyway. While I am dissapointed that I still have not stopped my night eating and snacking, I know that today I have a new chance to do just that. This week I’ll probably be very active so I’m going to go for another 4 pounds. It’s weird how on some weeks you can lose like 5 pounds and then other weeks your scale just stays the same.

 That is pretty bizarre.

I think when Janet (Jackson) was losing all her weight she lost an average of four pounds per week which is an incredible rate for a woman. But she stuck to a strict diet of about 1400 calories per day, worked out “formally” for an hour every day PLUS she would dance all day to rehearse for her upcoming tour.

That’s why I think, for the most part I lose weight so rapidly when I actually do stop eating at night. When I binge and eat at night, I just Yo-Yo right around 160. But if I actually cut off my calories at 1500 I lose weight easily because I am working out, restricting calories AND my job is so active.

For anyone who is familiar with Aircraft Maintainence, you are rarely sitting still. You are walking everywhere and constantly… kind of like being on the floor of the Stock Exchange. You are always standing and walking and then you are actually doing maintainence which involves heavy stuff sometimes and even when it is light maintenance you are still moving constantly. It’s no desk job is what I am driving at. I read that driving a freaking car burns 200 calories per hour so I am willing to bet I burn about 3000 on any given day. That’s a 1500 calorie deficit per day which would, in fact, make me lose at least 3 pounds a week. Plus the water weight that goes with it… TADA… 4 pounds per week.

whatever this post is getting long and boring. let’s see what you all are up to.

Drats!

I had the hugest binge last night. WTF!?!?!?!?!

It was like somebody else was in control of my mouth and everything. Which sounds ridiculous, but that’s the way it felt. It is so tempting to try and do something drastic when that happens but instead I just try to moderate. I’ll probably try to eat between 1000-1200 calories today. I will still do my little workout in the AM. Maybe go for a walk later.

And then there is the little party tonight.

Yes, I do take Omega-3s, as well as a multi-vitamin and a Glucosamine / MSM supp.

I can’t believe I binged. Damn it! I was doing so well. I probably could have lost about 7 pounds this week if I could just enforce that eating cut-off time with myself. As it is, I’ll be lucky to maintain.

Oh well. Today is a new day and tomorrow begins a new week. I can always just make a new commitment to start that good habit. Enforce an eating cut-off time and do NOT break it and certainly don’t have all-out binges at 2am.

Okay? Okay good I’m psyched. I’m okay.
